Reverse engineering and remanufacturing difficult and impossible to obtain aircraft parts and engines.

If it’s been made before CAMS can make it again
CAMS is a genuine one stop service for the reverse engineering and remanufacture of metal aircraft parts for WWI, WW2, modern and experimental airplanes including engines. Reverse engineering usually involves working from original parts – sometimes in good condition – more often badly damaged, corroded and seized – and sometimes from original drawings and plans.

In remanufacturing classic aircraft components it is often necessary to use modern materials. Still, the parts have to look as close to the original as possible and when changing materials CAMS ensures that the new aircraft part emulates the original appearance and performance specifications including testing in their own test rigs.

CAMS find innovative solutions to the problems of remanufacture but they have another principle – no shortcuts. They understand the safety and performance implications of their work. CAMS parts have full traceability and are made to the standards that only perfectionists like Tony Wytenburg and his team of engineer craftsmen achieve. CAMS works to a simple principle – ‘It has to look right, feel right, work right’. “When our clients receive their parts we want them to open the packaging, take one look and go ‘wow’.”

Attention to detail key to remanufacture of rare and difficult to obtain aircraft parts

  • Original airplane parts were often produced by methods and using materials that are no longer available yet CAMS reengineered and remanufactured parts closely emulate the appearance and performance of the originals.
  • Adaptable – modification of designs to accommodate clients’ requirements.
  • Quality – remanufacture to exacting standards with full traceability. A combination of hard engineering and hands-on craftsmanship.
  • Fair pricing inherent in business philosophy.
  • Flexibility – small run capability means parts are produced exactly to the client’s needs.
  • Responsive – fast turn around when required.

The CAMS team have huge experience working on a vast array of aircraft types so they are always mindful of the engineer who will have to fit the parts - they know what is necessary to make things fit together properly making sure that tolerances and clearances are exactly right.
